Tombstone CloseupSet on a rolling hillside, the cemetery offers some great views, especially as the sun sets in the West. I've not been on the grounds at sunrise, but I suspect that it would provide for some great shots once the sun gets above the tree line.
Many of the burial sites you'll find in the Oxford Cemetery are quite old; some date back to the 1800s. Several of the headstones are so weathered that whatever inscription had been carved into it is now illegible, and some are completely worn smooth.
The next time you're traveling north on St. Rt. 27 you would do well to stop in at the Oxford Cemetery and explore the grounds a bit. Besides being a great location for photographs, the site is something of a Miami University history lesson; several of the names you'll see on the graves and mausoleums you'll recognize from the campus map.

The star marker by the gravestone is from an old Union Civil War veteran group, the Grand Army of the Republic.
Thanks Justin!
