At a recent conference, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom product manager Tom Hogarty showed off some of the new features of the upcoming Lightroom 1.1 update release. Free to current users of Lightroom 1.1, this update will add some enhanced organization of your Presets and Templates (awesome, since my menu is getting long and cluttered), the ability to export libraries, and...
...A Sharpening Panel!! I'm pretty excited about that one - often times I want to make a print of a photograph that doesn't require any detailed editing in Photoshop CS3, but I'm forced to export a PSD and work it in CS3 just to sharpen for print. Lightroom's current "Low, Medium, and High Print Sharpening" is kind of a joke - I'm honestly surprised that it was included in the final release. If this dedicated Sharpening Panel is essentially the CS2/3 Smart Sharpen filter then we're really getting somewhere!
