Here's a nice Amaryllis red lion flower for any mothers who happen past this blog... hope your day is an enjoyable one! (Actually, according to WikiPedia this is more accurately a Hippeastrum flower, but they are often confused for Amaryllis.)
Info on the photograph: This was taken at the Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati, OH during the spring flower show preview in 2006. The solid blue background comes from a backdrop held behind the flower when the picture was taken.
PS - could someone who knows flowers please leave a comment indicating the proper name of this specimen? Thanks to Amy who answered this request in the comments!
