Airport Antidote backpack from Think Tank Photo

The UPS guy showed up today with my Airport Antidote backpack from Think Tank Photo. To date, I've typically carried a Domke F3 shoulder bag - an excellent bag for what it is, but not great for either travel or carrying more than a little gear around.

As you can see from the image [borrowed from the Think Tank site] the Airport Antidote holds a ton of stuff in a small package. It's only 17” H x 11.75“ W x 7”, which will fit in all international airport carry on guides & fits easily pretty much anywhere. The backpack also comes with a case for a 15" laptop that slips into a stretch pocket in the front.

I haven't even loaded the bag up yet but I can say this: Think Tank Photo is one of those rare companies (like Really Right Stuff) who pay attention to the fine details & delivers a superior product... You'll pay a bit more, but you won't regret it.

The shape of the bag makes a huge difference - it's rectangular, so you can fit more in it. That may not be a typical backpack shape, but it's certainly more efficient. Enough for now - time to load her up! I'll discuss more once I've traveled with it a bit.

By the way - has anyone ever wondered why pictures of bags always show the lenses in there without lens caps? Is it because they don't want the logo in the shot, because it looks cool, or because someone actually carries all their lenses open like this?

It's funny that you just received your bag today, because I just received my new camera bag today via UPS as well.

I just got a normal shoulder bag though:
Tarmac Digital Convertible 5674.

Well, my first reaction would be because they don't want logos showing, but they have that Canon lenscap in there, so that's probably not the reason, probably then it's just because it looks cool or to show that they are lenses, or perhaps the photographer that took this particular image didn't understand the reason to pull of the lenscaps.
