Since they've already got a lens nicknamed "Bigma" we'll need to come up with a fitting nickname for Sigma's recently-announced 200-500mm f/2.8 zoom.I'd suggest they call it The Green Monster.
Though it looks like some kind of weapon out of Quake II, this looks to be a pretty slick lens. Being a high-end Sigma, it's possible that the optical quality will be there and this will be the first 500mm f/2.8 zoom. Comes complete with a 2x teleconverter that they call an "attachment" (why?) and a battery built in to power the autofocus!
Not exactly portable, but it looks totally sweet! Green Monster it is unless someone can suggest a better nickname!
